About Julia
Julia is an associate at Gionet Fairley Wood LLP, where she represents clients in a broad range of legal disputes, including construction, commercial, employment, estate, and real estate matters. She earned her Juris Doctor from Western University’s Faculty of Law (2022), specializing in Business Law and developing a strong foundation in the legal aspects of business. Her diverse background allows her to approach matters with an interdisciplinary perspective, often identifying key issues that lead to comprehensive and efficient client solutions.
In her construction law practice, Julia has represented homeowners, project managers, contractors, and subcontractors in construction-lien claims, deficiency disputes, and unpaid-invoice matters. In employment law, she advises both employers and employees on a variety of workplace issues, including wrongful dismissal, human rights, employment standards, and policy development. Her estate litigation work includes both contested and uncontested proceedings, estate administration, and will challenges. Julia also handles contractual disputes involving breaches of commercial leases and purchase and sale agreements for real property.
Julia takes a client-centered approach to every matter, balancing strong advocacy with practical, results-driven negotiation. She is mindful of the costs associated with litigation, working to provide clients with cost-effective strategies without compromising on quality.
While she values negotiated resolutions, she brings a strategic and composed approach to courtroom advocacy. Julia has appeared before various courts and tribunals, including the Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court, Landlord and Tenant Board, Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and the Consent and Capacity Board.
Outside of work, Julia liked to stay active. She holds black belts in two martial arts disciplines, enjoys playing tennis and skiing. Julia is also a member of the Rotary Club of Barrie, where she actively contributes to local community initiatives.
