About Scott

Scott’s primary areas of practice include construction liens and construction-related litigation, contractual disputes, mortgage enforcement, creditors rights and remedies, shareholders rights and remedies, and commercial lease disputes.

Scott has taught construction law seminars through various construction Associations, as well as through Georgian College and the Ontario Bar Association.

Scott is an active member of the Advocates’ Society, having served on its Board of Directors from 2018 through 2022. Scott is certified by the Advocates’ Society as an advocacy skills instructor and has been a presenter and skills trainer at various Advocates’ Society educational programs.

More locally, Scott is a member of the Simcoe County Law Association and is a member of the Board of Directors of Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka, Cancer Support Centre. Scott has also volunteered regularly to assist Big Brothers’ and Big Sisters North Simcoe with its fundraising initiatives, and he has participated in seven Rides to Conquer Cancer raising over $40,000.00 for the Princess Margaret Hospital.

Scott was born and raised in Cambridge, Ontario. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from the University of Guelph, after which he attended law school at the University of Ottawa. Scott articled with Gowlings in Toronto and was called to the Bar in 2000.

Scott’s personal pursuits include mountain biking and road cycling, hockey, skiing, and golf. Scott is an avid skier and is a Level III Member of the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance.
